o empty place is really empty: everywhere is filled up, ‘almost claustrophobically’ with all the traces of the past. The past is always there in the present.


Echo, palimpsest, footprint…

 

Audio-Video looped projection and shadow/slide installation, site specific, The Falcon Works Pottery, Stoke on Trent, 2006.

The pottery in this installation was the last pottery made by Weatherby Pottery. The image is taken from the statue of Josiah Wedgwood, [founder of the Stoke on Trent pottery industry and the "father" of English bone china] which stands opposite Stoke on Trent train station.
