The Limits of History explores
the monuments that occupy public space in our environment.
Erected to commemorate an event or notable person, with the
passage of time the ideas and world views they represent are
forgotten or discredited. Yet still these figures remain on
the landscape, slowly decaying, visible yet unseen, silent
witnesses to our fate. This work was made to be projected
onto rough decaying wall, which was found in a derelict turret
room of the Midland Grand.
